Moulsford mustered a team following the Centenary match the day before and played Swyncombe under hot and humid conditions. The pitch had dried out overnight and was firm compared with 24 hours earlier.

Given the very hot conditions Moulsford batted first, fortunately. Opener Jonnie Stephens started well blasting 3 quickfire sixes before being bowled on 25. Adrian Allen then made 23 in a stand of 37 with James Coleman who made 21, including a well struck six. Thereafter Phil Hopkins made 12 before wickets tumbled leaving Moulsford on 109 all out.

A fresh Swyncombe team accumulated runs at a steady rate and reached the target in the 29th over for the loss of 3 wickets. Malcolm Singh, Phil Hopkins and Andy Moss each took a wicket.

Moulsford’s score was about 40 short of a challenging total and the previous day’s events may have been responsible for the shortfall.
